Vision

"Everyone to Thrive"

Our Vision Statement

“Together we thrive and learn to live life to the full.”
John 10:10

At Temple Guiting Church of England School, our vision is simple: Everyone to Thrive.

Our vision is rooted in the words of Jesus:

“I have come that they may have life, and have it in all its fullness.”
John 10:10

For us, thrive means much more than achieving well or being successful. It means having the opportunity to live life in all its fullness - growing in confidence and character, discovering our gifts and interests, developing meaningful relationships, experiencing joy and wonder, and finding hope, purpose and belonging.

As a Church of England school, we believe that every person is uniquely created and valued by God. We want every child and adult to feel known, loved, respected and encouraged to become the person they are capable of being.

Rooted in Love

Inspired by the description of love in 1 Corinthians 13, we seek to make love something that is not simply talked about, but lived out every day - through patience, kindness, forgiveness, courage, perseverance, compassion and the way we treat one another.

Love is our overarching Christian value, providing the foundation for our six other values:

Respect • Courage • Trust • Forgiveness • Perseverance • Friendship

Together, these values help us to put our Christian vision into practice and create a community where everyone can thrive.

What does it mean to thrive?

We want our children to thrive as whole people - in mind, body, relationships and spirit.

We therefore seek to nurture children who:

  • Grow in knowledge, confidence, character and wisdom
  • Belong and know that they are valued
  • Connect positively with others and their community
  • Wonder about the world and ask thoughtful questions
  • Have hope and the resilience to face challenges
  • Discover purpose and recognise the difference they can make
  • Serve others and care for the world around them
  • Live life in all its fullness

This understanding of thriving shapes the experiences we provide, from learning and play to friendships, sport, creativity, outdoor learning and opportunities to serve others.

A vision that is lived

Our vision is not simply words on a wall. Everyone to Thrive shapes the way we teach, learn, care for one another and make decisions as a school community.

We want children to experience a school where they are encouraged to be curious, take risks, make mistakes, persevere and celebrate their successes; where differences are valued; where relationships matter; and where everyone is given the opportunity to discover and develop their God-given gifts.

We recognise that everyone means everyone - children, staff, families, governors, volunteers and our wider community. We are all continuing to learn, grow and thrive.

Living life to the full

John 10:10 reminds us that the life Jesus offers is life in all its fullness. This does not mean a life without difficulty or challenge. Instead, it points towards a life rooted in love, hope, courage, relationship and purpose.

Our hope is that every child who leaves Temple Guiting knows:

I am valued.
I am loved.
I belong.
I have gifts to share.
I can make a difference.
I have hope for the future.

And, together, we seek to thrive and learn to live life to the full.

“Together we thrive and learn to live life to the full.”
John 10:10
